The Florida A&M University School of Journalism & Graphic Communication (SJGC) was the first journalism program at a historically black university to be nationally accredited by the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications in 1982. The school is home to the Division of Journalism, which has two specializations — journalism and public relations. With a focus on academic achievement and experiential learning, SJGC prepares its students to be ethical, impactful, and confident storytellers and leaders.
Fall 2024 Commencement
The Fall 2024 Commencement Ceremony was held Friday, Dec. 13, at 6 p.m. in the Alfred Lawson Jr. Multipurpose Center. Dean Mira Lowe of the School of Journalism & Graphic Communication awarded degrees to graduates in journalism, graphic design, and public relations.
