Florida A&M University’s (FAMU) School of Journalism & Graphic Communication (SJGC) is excited to announce WANM-FM 90.5 has been named as a finalist in the Society of Professional Journalism (SPJ) 2024 Sunshine State Awards.

SPJ has hosted the Sunshine State Awards, the state’s oldest and largest journalism contest recognizing the best writing, photography and design for professionals and students, for more than 50 years.

This year, WANM-FM 90.5 is among the finalists for the following:

“The recognition is a testament to the students’ hard work producing creative and engaging content,” said Terrence Ward, director, WANM-FM 90.5. “I’m proud of the students’ keen sense of storytelling through various mediums. I hope the recognition inspires them and their peers to strive for the opportunities available to them all.”
