FAMU School of Journalism and Graphic Communication professor Dr. Jeff Wilkinson participated in multiple sessions of the 2023 Broadcast Education Association conference held in Las Vegas, NV on April 15-18, 2023. The Broadcast Education Association is the “premier international academic media organization driving insights, excellence in media production, and career advancement for educators, students, and professionals.”
As a regular attendee of the BEA conference , Wilkinson enjoys seeing friends and colleagues from other universities. “I like presenting my work at events like this because it reaffirms my standing as a scholar whose work is known at other universities,” he says.

At the Research-in-Progress poster session, Wilkinson discussed their paper submitted by Grant, A., Hubner, A., Piacentine, C., Wilkinson, J.S., Miller, S. and Bowe, B. “Correspondence of Frames as a Predictor of Media Effects.” At the panel on Communication Technology, Wilkinson spoke about “Artificial Intelligence, Surveillance and Smart Devices.” As the Co-Chair of the International Division Paper Competition, also he moderated and presented certificates to the top-rated papers.
