FAMU’s School of Journalism & Graphic Communication (SJGC) alumni continue to make their mark on the world’s biggest media stages. Earlier this month, during Super Bowl LX week, two graduates showcased their talents in graphic design and communications far beyond the field.
Keytron Jordan, a 2021 graphic design graduate who now serves as a designer at CBS Sports, had millions of eyes on his artwork celebrating the Seattle Seahawks’ championship win.
Drawing on the design skills he developed at FAMU and strengthened during his CBS Sports internship as an undergraduate, Jordan recreated one of the game’s most memorable moments. He produced a cinematic, aerial‑perspective graphic capturing Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold lifting the Vince Lombardi Trophy toward the sky—a visual that quickly gained national traction.

The artwork was featured across CBS Sports and NFL on CBS Instagram, X and Facebook platforms, which collectively reach more than 13.7 million followers. The piece earned widespread praise for its artistic style.
“Designing the graphic for Sam Darnold’s Super Bowl win felt like freezing a historic moment in time and being part of it in my own way,” Jordan said, reflecting on how capturing the celebration through art was also an inspirational highlight. “Everyone doubted him for years, but he became a winner and proved everyone wrong.”
Asiya Gilmore, a 2021 journalism graduate, also reached a major professional milestone during Super Bowl weekend. As a communications manager for Procter & Gamble’s North America Hair Care beauty division, Gilmore traveled to the San Francisco Bay Area to represent Head & Shoulders, the official shampoo of the NFL.

In her role, she led content production with macro‑influencers and supported P&G brand ambassador Aidan Hutchinson of the Detroit Lions, who was nominated for Defensive Player of the Year and Comeback Player of the Year.
“Seeing the intersection of brand strategy, athlete partnerships, and cultural moments play out on such a large stage was an incredible professional milestone,” Gilmore said. “My experience representing Head & Shoulders at Super Bowl LX was truly surreal. Looking back, I never would’ve imagined that the work I started at SJGC would evolve into an opportunity to operate at this level with the NFL. It was one of those full‑circle moments that reminded me how far intentional growth can really take you.”
Jordan and Gilmore’s achievements serve as inspiration to current students, demonstrating that an education from FAMU SJGC prepares media and design professionals for any stage, any platform, and any moment.
