The SJGC Scholarship fosters academic excellence by awarding high achievers who are currently enrolled as journalism, public relations and graphic design majors.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
- Applicant must be a student at Florida A&M University enrolled as a major in SJGC. Pre-journalism students are ineligible.
- Applicant must have a “B” average in English and a 3.0 cumulative grade point average.
- Applicant must have a FAFSA on file in the FAMU Office of Financial Aid.
- Incoming freshman applicants must have a minimum 26 ACT or 1100 SAT score.
INSTRUCTIONS
Fill out the Form and upload the following documents
- Résumé
- Two letters of recommendation (One letter must be from a teacher.) Note: Letters must be typed, dated and written on letterhead by persons who are not a relative, signed (no font signatures), include length of time and in what capacity the recommender knows you.
- Financial Aid awards letter
- Attach up to three work samples (optional)
- Minimum 200-word response for either topic (choose one)
- What stimulated your interest in your chosen major and what personal attributes you feel would enhance your career?
- Discuss an issue of local, national or international concern and its importance to you.
