Florida A&M University School of Journalism & Graphic Communication (FAMU SJGC) students and alumni continue to be recognized for excellence in broadcast journalism across the state.
The prestigious Florida News Awards, presented by the Florida Association of Broadcast Journalists, announced its finalists, and the work of several members of the FAMU SJGC community has been recognized in multiple categories.
This year’s competition was judged by a panel of industry experts and focused on outstanding content produced in 2024. Finalists were selected from more than 750 submissions representing 50 television and radio stations across the state.
Winners will be announced April 12, 2025, during the annual Florida News Awards Celebration at the Rosen Centre Resort in Orlando. The awards celebration is part of Press Forward, a one-day gathering that will expose journalism students to training, networking, and job opportunities.
We continue to be proud of the work of our students and alumni,” said FAMU SJGC Dean Mira Lowe. “Their accomplishments underscore our commitment to preparing influential storytellers and news leaders. We congratulate our finalists and applaud the excellent work they showcased in 2024.
