Kareem White, director of talent production at ESPN, has won an outstanding studio show Emmy for his role as a producer on “SportsCenter.”
Recipients were announced during the 44th Annual Sports Emmy Awards on May 22, 2023. This marks White’s third Emmy win in his esteemed sports public relations career.
“It’s never lost on the opportunity to win an Emmy Award as they don’t come around that often,” White says. “I was also happy to win with my colleagues, who poured countless hours and effort into their work.”
White is a 1997 graduate of FAMU’s School of Journalism & Graphic Communication where he earned a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism. He also received a master’s degree in sports management from Florida State University in 2003.
In his 16 year tenure at ESPN, he worked in the production research department and contributed to shows like SportsCenter,”Mike and Mike,” “NFL Live” and “First Take”. White also served as co-president of People United to Lead, Serve and Excel, or P.U.L.S.E., a Black employee resource group at ESPN.
Prior to his time at the sports network, White worked for the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Denver Broncos in the media relations/community relations department.
