The Dow Jones News Fund HBCU Digital Media Institute has chosen its 2021 cohort of HBCU students for three days of training in digital media storytelling techniques. Florida A&M University’s School of Journalism & Graphic Communication will host the virtual institute May 26-28, 2021. The students will be able to expand digital media skills including videography, photography, audio, graphic design and immersive technologies.
Francine Huff, a professor at FAMU, will direct the digital media institute. Other instructors include Michael Grant, founder at Get Current Studio; Michelle Johnson, Associate Professor of the Practice, Multimedia Journalism, Boston University; Alicia Hope, Visiting Assistant Professor, FAMU; Justyn Thomas, Creative Director, 422 Agency; L.Michelle Salvant, founder of L.MichelleMedia; and Kalisha Whitman, Senior TV Manager, University of Florida.
