CBS 17 News in Raleigh, NC has announced FAMU alumna, Brea Hollingsworth, as co-anchor of CBS 17 News This Morning. She will anchor alongside Bill Young on weekdays from 4:30 a.m.-7 a.m.
Hollingsworth is a 2018 broadcast journalism graduate. She joined CBS 17 in November 2021 as a reporter. Before that, she spent three years at WINK-TV in Fort Myers, FL as a reporter.
“We’re excited to have Brea join CBS 17 News This Morning. Her energy and passion for local news that matters are a great addition to mornings,” said News Director Ed Trauschke.
While at FAMU, Hollingsworth was a multimedia journalist and anchor for FAMU-TV 20, SJGC’s student-run television network. She was also a 2018 recipient of the Radio Television Digital News Association’s (RTDNA) Ed Bradley Scholarship.
